Contents Page Research

  • A few images break up the lists of information and pull your attention to the articles they go along with.
  • The masthead 'MOJO' appears again on the contents page to reinforce the name of the magazine.
  • Text is organised in standard column format, making it clear and easy to read.
  • Bold use of font for a header 'THIS MONTH'S CONTRIBUTORS' tells the reader exactly what the page has on it.
  • There are 146 pages so enough articles are mentioned.
  • Musical instruments are used as props by the models which relates to the type of magazine it is.
  • 50% images and 50% text so the magazine is equally mixed with both aspects.
  • The page numbers are in a different colour so the reader can easily spot this.
  • Bold headers break down the different features of the magazine on the page which makes it easier for the reader to navigate their way around a page.

  • The use of pull quote here works well as gives you a small line from a featured interview and makes you want to read more of it.
  • Kicker (font size 14-16) followed by an explanatory piece (font size 12).
  • One large image of a Caucasian male shows that he is a main interview.
  • The band names as the headers help to break down each feature more, there may be one particular band that interests the reader and it makes it easier for the reader to find the desired article.
  • The page is neatly laid out with text on the right and image on the left.
  • Headline is at the centre of the page which is the name of the magazine.
